Who we are
This website is operated by Mobile Soul Limited, trading as SER Team (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 05446273, with our registered office at Apartment 770, Renforth Street, London, SE16 7JZ. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number Z9555928.
If you have any question about this policy or your personal data, contact troy@serteam.co.uk.
The personal data we collect
We collect personal data in three ways.
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company, your message, and your phone number if you choose to provide it.
When you ask to join our mailing list, by ticking the optional box on the contact form, we record your email address and the fact and date of your consent.
When you browse the site, we and our analytics provider collect standard technical data through cookies, such as your device and browser type, the pages you view, and a truncated or processed form of your IP address. This only happens if you accept analytics cookies. See the Cookie Policy for detail.
We do not knowingly collect special category data, and we ask that you do not include it in messages to us.
How and why we use your data, and our lawful basis
We use your contact form data to read and respond to your enquiry and to take steps at your request before any engagement. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and, where relevant, taking steps prior to entering a contract.
We use your email address to send marketing messages only if you have asked us to, by ticking the optional box. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time, and every marketing email will include an unsubscribe link.
We use analytics data to understand how the site is used and to improve it. Our lawful basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner.
We may also process personal data where we need to comply with a legal obligation.
Marketing and business prospects
Separately from the data you give us directly, we carry out business to business outreach. This means we may hold a limited amount of professional information about you even if you have never contacted us. This section explains that activity. We provide it to you under Article 14 of the UK GDPR, because we obtained your data from a source other than you.
The information we hold. Professional, business context information only: your name, job title, employer, your professional LinkedIn profile, your business email address, and an internal relevance score and notes that we derive from publicly available information. We do not collect or infer special category data, and we hold no information about you in a personal capacity.
Where we get it. We obtain this information from professional and business sources, namely LinkedIn and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and a business contact data provider, Kaspr, which is part of Cognism. We do not buy consumer data, and we do not collect data from private contexts.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis. We use this information to identify business decision makers who are likely to have a need for our services, and to contact them with a relevant, professional approach. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR in promoting our services to relevant businesses. We have carried out a balancing assessment and concluded that this limited, professional processing does not override your interests, rights or freedoms. Where we contact you by electronic means, we also comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
Who we share it with. We do not sell this information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share it only with the service providers that help us run our outreach, acting as our processors under contract. Where this involves a transfer outside the UK, we apply the safeguards described in the International transfers section below.
How long we keep it. If you do not respond, and you do not become a contact or client, we keep this information for up to 12 months from our last contact with you, after which we review it and delete it. If you ask us to stop, we add your details to our suppression list and delete what we no longer need promptly.
Your right to object, and how to opt out. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. If you tell us you do not want to be contacted, we will stop straight away and add you to our do not contact list. You can opt out using the link in any message we send you, or by emailing troy@serteam.co.uk. You also have the other rights set out in the Your rights section below, including the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site and our practice, acting as our processors under contract:
- Formspree, which delivers contact form submissions to us
- Google Analytics, which provides website analytics
- our email and IT providers, which store and transmit the messages you send us
We may also disclose personal data if required by law, regulation, or a valid request from an authority.
International transfers
Some of our providers, including Formspree and Google, are based in or process data in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations where they apply, or on the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, so that your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
How long we keep your data
We keep contact enquiries for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally up to 24 months, in case you make contact again. If an enquiry becomes a client engagement, we keep the related records for the life of the engagement and for up to 6 years afterwards to meet legal and accounting requirements. We keep mailing list data until you unsubscribe. We keep analytics data in line with the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability where it applies. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out. To exercise any right, email troy@serteam.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are concerned about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
